The Show
The Bag Ladies provide a visual and entertaining experience and a special way to connect with your local community. The show is fun, dynamic and a little offbeat. It can be :
- an excellent stand alone performance (indoor or outdoor)
- part of a longer yarn bombing residency (community event)
- a simple walk about event , asset of choice for any festival
Their dynamic characters combine humor, mime, music and moments of public interaction creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Through the art of knitting, these women come together to spread joy and colour throughout the neighborhood, despite the challenges of learning to knit.
Witness their attempts at "Yarn bombing" for an unforgettable experience.
"Yarn bombing" is a bit like graffiti which has swapped its spray paint for balls of colored wool! Knitted or crocheted patterns replace paint and chalk. Also known as wool bombing, yarn storming, guerrilla knitting, kniffiti, urban knitting or even graffiti knitting, it is street art that makes knots and stitches.
September 6 in Lisov, Slovakia
As part of our international development, we will travel to Slovakia this year to develop The Bag Ladies project, where we will develop workshops, master classes and experiences with the residents of Lisov with a Yarn Bombing event. This will be our second residency project with The Bag Ladies, our first took place in France at the Center Sociales Culturel des Combes in Les Hauts de Chambéry (73).
